CiRCUS STUDiES INTERNaTIONaL aCaDEMIC CONFERENCE
NEW CIRCUS. NEW aRCHITECTURES?

6_8 NOVEMbER 2024 maRCHin - BeLGiUm

Organized by the Free University of Brussels and Latitude 50 In collaboration with the University of Berlin
and UCLouvain (LOCI-Tournai)

The aim of this conference is to use analyses of historical and contemporary circus buildings, their forms and typologies, discourses and epistemes as a starting point for discussions on broader issues concerning artistic, social, cultural, and historical interrelations.

The conference will take place at the recently inaugurated Latitude 50 Circus in the Belgian countryside. This venue not only allows us to directly connect research questions to practice.

The event is open to the public. Presentations and discussions will be conducted in English.
